There is some good news on the status of the developer’s pending application for its massive, controversial project on the Gelson’s site at Lincoln and Ocean Park Blvds.
Earlier this month, SMCLC objected to the application because it did not include sufficient information.
Yesterday we learned the City agreed.
The City has sent the developer a list of information it must include in order to comply with Santa Monica's application process. Once revised plans are turned in, there will be another review for completeness as to all outstanding issues. Information SMCLC identified as incomplete was included as part of the City's response, such as the developer's failure to provide any record of its responses to questions and comments from the community meeting.
Once the developer submits an adequate application, the City will review whether the project meets its development standards as well as state laws governing a project of this magnitude.
