Mayor Torosis and Councilmembers,
Please place the City’s continuing sponsorship of AB 1740 on the next City Council agenda on June 23 for public discussion and a formal vote. This is warranted in light of the Memorandum of Understanding reached with the City and the Coastal Commission on a Local Coastal Plan.
There is a need for clarity from the city, both for our community and for the upcoming Senate Natural Resources Committee hearings, as to the purpose of this bill and why the City still feels it’s necessary in light of the MOU.
